Asking for "Most Benevolent Outcomes"

As the words do resonate: "Seek and Ye Shall Find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you,” from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, one cannot help but wonder why it does NOT come to pass so simply as that (snap fingers) in the lives of so many who trust in these words (or say they trust) in their daily lives. Here is a clue. I received this email yesterday from a friend who asks specifically in a certain way for great results apparently. Here is the info in case this little refinement could make a difference in your life:

Bob, who apparently knows the author,Tom Moore, writes: In Tom's book, "The Gentle Way", he explains the many benefits of asking for 'most benevolent outcomes' in our lives....

Bob continues: I would like to tell you a couple of stories and then continue with the last newsletter's theme of Conversations With a Guardian Angel, which I've received nice response about.

My wife has wanted us to downsize our house since our kids have all graduated. I have resisted this, as we've lived in the same section of Dallas for over 30 years, but every week she was pulling me out of my office to go visit another house. I finally started requesting a Benevolent Outcome for buying each one of the houses, as I knew that my Guardian Angel Theo would not let us purchase the wrong one. We even made a bid on one house that someone else bought by paying the full asking price. In this very "soft" market that just does not happen.

Then I decided to request a Most Benevolent Outcome for the "perfect house" for us. Naturally, the very next day she found it. Not only was it perfect for our needs, but the couple that owned it had already moved to Atlanta and didn't want to put anymore money in the house to make it more marketable; so we were able to buy the house at an extremely low price for that area.

In that same vein, Jacqui in Australia emailed to say that she was going to renew her lease on an apartment (or "flat" down under) in Melbourne and was really afraid they were going to increase the rent, as they had all been going up recently. So she requested a MBO and they renewed her lease and at no increase! She said that's unheard of right now in Melbourne.

Linda in the New York area emailed several times really frightened that she was out of work. I suggested several MBO requests to make concerning going to interviews, asking for the "perfect job" for her, and so on. She emailed just this past week to tell me she got the job she applied for. It was right in her field of expertise.

If you would, please send this newsletter to your friends if you think they would like to read this information. And if you're receiving this newsletter from a friend, visit my website at www.TheGentleWayBook.com . You can sign up for the newsletter yourself by clicking on the link on the first page, and you can also read other articles I've written for a number of publications, plus two sample chapters of my book— THE GENTLE WAY: A Self-Help Guide For Those Who Believe in Angels.

I might add that Angel books are great gifts at Christmas time, so you can link to Amazon.com or my publisher in the LINKS section of the website.

Now for some Conversations with my Guardian Angel, Theo. I'll start where I left off last time.

Tom: Theo, It seems at times that you can't give me advice directly – only as those whispers in my ears. Is that standard policy for Guardian Angels or just your instructions by my oversoul?

Theo: No, I do have my instructions from your oversoul as you call it, but we also have rules that we can't tell you to go this way and that way in your life. Yes, when you request a Benevolent Outcome, we can work to make things happen in magical ways it seems. But for you to ask me should I take this road or that road, we can only whisper in your ear. We are not allowed to give you this information directly as I'm doing now. So it is very important to keep your ear or your senses open to what we can urge you to do. By the same token, we can give you much information that can assist you in your decisions, but we can't decide for you. Those are instructions from all of the souls that created this world, or game as it is sometimes called, or experiment. You must remain veiled and seemingly cannot see the road ahead. We have been allowed in your case to give you more information than is typically available, as you are needed to assist others to be where they are supposed to be next year and then into the future times. You act as a human conduit for this information to be presented so that everyone has the same chance to accept it and move away from these areas or reject it and stay. It is their choice.

Tom: Regarding my development of listening to you or for you. What is our goal?

Theo: Ah Tom, our goal is just that. You, on a soul level, want to be able to instantly recognize when I speak to you no matter the time of day or not and know that it is me and not your id or mind speaking or saying things.

Tom: Will the final result be that I speak to people and instantly tune you in to give them advice?

Theo: In a way, yes. Not exactly but you will be asked your opinion many times in the coming years, and I will assist you, if you do not shut me out and use only your mind.

Tom: When you or another guardian angel sees that we heard that "whisper in your ear," does that give you satisfaction or is that a 3d feeling that does not apply to you as a soul?

Theo: Good question Tom, actually. We do have joy that we are able to succeed in getting through to you in that muddled atmosphere where you are caught up in the dramas of the day. The more you pay attention, the easier it is for us to make known your path and make your lives easier and less stressful. We try and advise you on everything, but as we have discussed before, this is a free choice world and sometimes –actually many times--humans make choices that are not at the highest level of your purpose on earth. We do adjust when you make those decisions to veer off of the path you wanted to take before your birth.

Tom: Does your soul, Theo, resonates at the same vibrational rate as my soul?

Theo: Yes Tom, I resonate very closely with your soul, as it is necessary in order to advise you.

Tom: But then if you're assisting a young soul, how is that accomplished?

Theo: They may be new souls for an earth life, but they are not necessarily new in the sense of the word meaning just birthed. As you have heard before, before they are allowed an earth life, they have to have had many lives elsewhere in the universe, because earth school would be equated with a tough university or even master program at a university. They would be lost if they had not gone through grade school all the way through high school, so that term "new soul is a misnomer.

Tom: When someone says they are speaking to an Arch Angel, is it really their own guardian angel handling the communication?

Theo: Yes, Tom, we are asked to fill in for the Arch Angels, with day-to-day details that must be handled. They answer the call, but we are the filters to you, according to your question and your contract. But people believe what they wish to believe, so let them.

Tom: Did most of our souls have lives in other creations before coming to this universe?

Theo: Yes, of course Tom. Almost none of you were recent births shall we say. You all had been doing many different things and having lives in other creations when you heard about what this Creator was going to do. Everyone recognized how hard it would be, so everyone knew that great growth, as we have said before, would result. It would be in your terms like applying after hearing about a new job.

Tom: How do I address my oversoul?

Theo: It is very simple to address your oversoul just as you did me. You ask that your oversoul comes through and immediately it will. I assure you your oversoul keeps very close tabs on you so to speak to see what you choose next on your own and how it connects with your life plan.

Tom: Also, why couldn't an oversoul act as my Guardian Angel? What is the difference between the two of you?

Theo: There is a great difference Tom. Your soul is involved with thousands if not millions of lives at one time across the universe. Earth is an exceptional place in comparison to any of these other worlds because it is free choice and you are veiled from your soul knowledge. It was felt that each individual on earth needs individual attention because of the great challenges you have here in comparison to these other worlds. Therefore they asked for volunteers on a soul or spirit level and I was one of those souls that volunteered to assist you and many other people in many different lives. Your oversoul is just much too busy to do what we do on a daily basis.

I know this may seem a little trendy, so to speak, but I submit it anyway due to the fact that a lot of us are indeed looking for some kind of general help or UPLIFT, as deeper understanding, and don't care much where it comes from as long as it is from a true source of God's Light, and as we all probably do call upon Him as Source or Spirit, etc. according to our beliefs. Therefore,...

Best Regards, and Happy Manifestings in your Life and Your Business Building With Gold Star Solutions,

Transform Your Business and Your Life With EFT

Transforming… and why we need to do it.

The other day, I was listening to Dr. Wayne Dyer's tape on transformation. This is how he spoke about ‘transforming,’ or getting from where you are to where you want to be: “If you think about the word ‘transform’, it is made up of 2 words: The first word is ‘trans’, meaning going beyond. The second word is 'form', referring to our physical form, our body. Transforming means going beyond the form, going beyond our body, going beyond the material world.”

Life and even our business really is about transforming. From the day we are born, we are all constantly transforming. Even our business methodology is transforming every day. And from a scientific point of view, this is more and more becoming an established fact. You, the one reading this article at this moment, are different from the person you were a minute ago. And so, actually, are your customers... and your prospects. And even your product or service could be transforming in all liklihood.

As you read this material, millions of biological reactions are happening in your body; all bodies are constantly changing. So it's only fair to consider that also the marketplace where we do business, and the way we do busines is constantly changing.

Our bodies are consistently exchanging with the environment every moment of our existence. And the bottom line is: for every breath we take, there are billions of atoms going out of our body, and billions of new atoms coming into it. We, as earth humans, are not a fixed solid entity. We are energy that is constantly transforming.

So, does that make sense? We are energy? We are not "fixed" anything. According to what is called quantum physics, everything in this material world is made up of atoms, and every atom is made up of sub-atomic particles. These sub-atomic particles are nothing but energy vibrating at different frequencies. And our heart, amazingly, is actually capable of carrying subtle, specific vibrations to every single cell in our body.

Our bodies are nothing but a whole bunch of energy constructed in such a way that is able to receive our heart’s every single beat vibration in every single cell. How extraordinary is that? Now, we have a new point of view on our body; we are energy that is constantly transforming with every single heartbeat. And the really amazing part is, it’s almost all done mostly unconsciously.

And now the question comes, who is governing this process of transformation? What is the force behind it? What "makes it happen"? The answer is, there is a divine force that is passing through everything. This is now agreed upon by both scientists and religious leaders alike, not to mention countless believers of every religion on the planet. And this is notably what is really happening in our world right now, a transformation. Things are changing and polarizing, and shifting, and erupting everywhere.

And while some people call this force God, and Wayne Dyer calls it Source, it is also sometimes called Higher Power, or sometimes, simply just intelligence and it is this very intelligence that passes through everything that we can see, feel, touch, taste, smell... and even beyond our earthly human perception... and even beyond our human conception. And it governs all material creation. And as humans, we are co-creators with it. And, certainly, we can all learn to do so much, with it and through it. And it even can take us beyond our our beliefs... in a good way.

If we can get in touch with this intelligence, we can create anything we want through its ‘divine’ power. In fact, it is within us every moment, even before we were born. And a powerful technique that has been used by many successful people throughout human history to get in touch with this intelligence to reveal the inner working, or the very nature of anything, is called meditation. Deepak Chopra calls it dropping into “the gap.”

Here is a meditation technique taught by Dr. Chopra. I find it extremely effective and simple, and and I would like to share it with you. Sit comfortably in a chair or on the floor with your feet flat on the floor (or on a meditation pillow). Put your hands on your thighs, facing upwards. Keep your spine straight (and perpendicular to the ground.)

Close your eyes and start focusing on your breathing. As you inhale, think of the word "So", and as you exhale, think of the word "Hum". Calmly, follow your breath... just watch your breath, and repeat the words, mentally, in your mind, but don't try to control it. Anytime your mind goes away and gets lost in something else, and it probably will at first, just notice that and simply bring it back to paying attention to your breathing, and to the sounds. The more you are able to do this, the less that tendency of the mind to wander will happen. And that will be real progress in our lives.

It is always recommended to do this meditation for at least 15-20 minutes if you can. Just by closing your eyes, watching your breath, and bringing your mind back repeatedly to your original intention, your life will absolutely transform. It has even been demonstrated scientifically that just the simple fact of closing your eyes alone will actually integrate the front and back parts of your brain; and, of course, that, by itself, is a very profound thing.

How to put this principle into practice?

Start by shifting your perception about your body. Repeat the words "Energy, Transformation, Intelligence, and Together" as often as you can every day. You will start to see the world very differently. (See Deepak Chopra's book "Grow Younger, Live Longer").

A great many people have, and continue to have, issues regarding feelings of lack, of money, purpose, things, and along with those feelings, perpetual "needs" (although we certainly all have needs), that eventually gets down to this: It is important to know that these issues are always having to do with forgiveness; to be able to forgive yourself (or others) for any mistakes you (or they) have ever made in the past, knowing completely that you are no longer what you were in the past.

And if a person ever really got serious about looking at what they could have done differently with the choices and decisions that they made in the past that caused a chain of events that they later didn't like, the answer is probably "very little." And anyway, the arrows that we have already shot are gone; it is the ones that remain that are important for us to know we can possibly control for the better. And that is our aim.

So, with that in mind, every moment that you breathe and your heart is beating, there is a brand new you born, and you are living in this present moment with an absolutely brand new you. It is perhaps the greatest part of the miracle that is the very nature of our humanity. Every heartbeat gives us a chance to change our future... with certainty.

So, focus on your desires every day, and definitely write them down, knowing that "What You Focus On Expands". Believe unquestionably and absolutely that what they represent (your desires; de-sire, of the Father) they will come true, knowing that the intelligence of creation is within you and actually knows exactly all about you; that you are the co-creator, with the powers of nature, this very moment, and with the colors on your palette right now you can indeed, with real expectation, create the very masterpiece that your life was intended to be.

Communicate this fact with this intelligence, this Higher Power; it is your best friend or your worst enemy depending on your own mind. With faith and courage, commitment and intention, pass your desires on to it through your increasingly real and realized daily meditations. Albert Einstein said that the only question that should concern any of us really is: "do I live in a basically friendly universe or not." He also said that "imagination is greater than knowledge."

And knowing that, with your sights set on your journey, one step at a time, your 'well-spent' life, and your so worthy and deserving abundance await you. What are you waiting for? Your future is what determines what happens to you, not your past. But by cleaning up our past, the path will certainly be more fragrant.

I hope you enjoy this message, we will talk again soon.

Best Regards,
Stuart Miller

The Good New Is.... From Pete and Joe

The following transcription was done by me from an 'ancient' audio interview between Joe Vitale and Pete Siegel. It is actually better with the voices, but the information is nonetheless wonderful for empowering yourself today and everyday:

EXCERPT:

Pete: (after a guided imagery exercise on a recorded call with Joe) re: "I want you to think about a situation (and he names a few kinds of things) where you felt "this reluctance, this 'I don't know,' this unsurenes, this tentativeness..."

"And I am going to visualize right now that all of you are seated in an auditorium, or a ballroom where I do my seminars... and now I can see that just about everyone on the call has their (left) arm raised because they have felt these things and have responded by raising their left arm... and now (after this exercise) if you think you feel differently now than you did when you first focused on it, and now, not only do you feel like you can do it, you feel that you really want to do it now, in fact you can't wait to do it now, then I want you to let your (left) arm raise up even higher, and I want you to silently, mentally say these words: "I am stronger than I let myself be; I am more capable than I let myself realize; I have greater ability than I give myself credit for; I am a person of success, action, impact and I know I can do this thing and I know I can succeed." (And he ends the visualization... "and now very slowly lower your arm, letting the palm of your left hand rest comfortably on your left thigh.")

"And I want you all to understand now that this -- (re: his earlier exercise of clenching your right fist and focusing on your breathing the way someone who feels they're totally on top of things breathes, and mentally exclaiming your "keyword" once) -- produces that same feeling.

So, before a meeting, before an important phone call, before you want to talk to a boss, a supervisor, a manager to ask for a raise, or to communicate some kind of sentiment that you feel is important, before you discipline your children, or have a discussion with your husband or wife, or any other aspect of life, where confidence and being an impact person and performance master is important to you... don't just hope it happens, or see if it will happen... prepare yourself internally so you give yourself the absolute best chance that it will. And now I've just given every one of you an amazingly powerful resource enabling you to do that.

Joe: Oooh, Wow! Pete... you are amazing. I'm coming out of my own trance here. It seems like if you could stay where you've just put us, our impact, our resolves would be way more than they usualy are. So how do you keep bringing more of this out of yourself?

Pete: You have to have a plan. You have to have some kind of structure... an activation strategy... some kind of system that moves you to develop the resources and capacities... and the elements and the attributes that you know you have within yourself right now... and mobilize them into a force that stimulates positive success / impact / action.

If you want to lose weight, what would those actions be? Keeping only kinds of certain foods in your house; learning how to change your emotional preferences to foods that are healthier and better for you; to work out what kinds of actions would those be: joining a gym, finding a personal trainer; finding a workout partner; developing the best routine you could; reading the bodybuilding and the fitness magazines to find out what works, talking with, staying with, and forming relationships with like-minded people; if it's increasing your income, reading magazines about opportunities that are out there; buying specific knowledge courses (for example in real estate in the cash-flow-note business); learning how to start your own business; learning some kind of marketing, becoming some kind of entrepreneur... developing some kind of product or a service and then devising a specific plan to make people aware that that kind of product or service exists. It all takes confidence.

But you know what, folks? If you clench your right fist, and breathe the way someone who is on top of things breathes and says your keyword... that's the feeling that you have right now. And then you work this plan, this strategy.

That's what you need: a strategy, a system; and you make dealing with... moving further into developing "the more of you" into your life. It's not something that you say, "I would really love that; I would like... (he gives examples of "ladies" and men "wanting" to go into a different dress size / belt size); it's something that you say to yourself, 'I am going to develop a plan. I am going to structure a process; and then I am going to transform into the embodiment of the confidence that I need that each day addresses what I have to do within that process until I get what I'm after.

Now the more of you there is, the more effective, commanding, and the more ultimately successful that you'll be in your business and your life. Let me say that again, so you can really grasp onto that statement. As you begin to develop yourself; as you begin to explore, and exploit and cultivate the resources of confidence, positive expectancy, optimism, total conviction, personal drive, personal initiative, success-impact-self-image, magnitude- self-esteem, you develop and become more; and the more of you there is, the more effective, commanding, and ultimately successful you'll be in your business and personal lives.

The more confident and emotionally strong you are, the more boldness you'll then generate in your actions, words, and the kinds of growth and profit-targeted risks you'll take in your business, and your life. What kind of profit-targeted risks do I mean, taking in your personal life? Standing up and saying what you mean; going for what you want instead of waiting, and hoping and wishing and dreaming to see if someone else can connect with you so you can feel supported by them, strengthened by them, empowered by them... because waiting equals what?

Waiting equals failure, doesn't it, folks? Let's be honest here: How many things have you waited for, and hoped that someone else would come through for you and they haven't, and you didn't follow thru and do it for yourself?

That's the answer. That's the answer...to become the kind of person, and personality, who becomes self-reliant; self-initiating; a self-starter; and a follow-thru finisher. The more mentally tougher you become - and ladies, this applies to you as well - the more emphatic your decisions; the more comprehensive your overview; and direction regarding things you can do to bolster your success that you've never done, or considered that you could do before.

The mentally tougher you become, the more emphatic and targeted your decisions become, and the more comprehensive your overview regarding what you actually can do becomes. And the more you feel an equality with your fellow man regarding your ability, your capacity for excellence and your capacity for efficiency, the more you'll then go after things and get them done. Now let that really sink down way deep within you. Let it become part of you. Just like the apple that you eat becomes part of your bloodstream.

Listen to this again now: The more you feel an equality toward your fellow man, regarding your ability, your capacity for excellence, and your capacity for efficiency, the more you'll then go after things and get them unequivocally done. Ok? The plan is a step-by-step approach to bring the most and best out of yourself so that you can start doing what you truly can, and step beyond, decisively, demonstrably beyond... the small, reserved, limited-routine you, so that the part of you that you experienced in the process that we just did a moment ago, continues to live and grow and thrive and flourish in you, and to think in you, to BE You Always.

Joe: Now speaking of systems.... (sales process begins in which Pete describes his method as appropriate. Joe just went thru one and glows about it....) so, how does anybody get there? Into dynamic performance; and how to move yourself decisively from where you are now to where you want to be, and how to get yourself out of your own way so that you can continually move in that direction... there is even a "Joe Vitale" discount for the listeners of this free call (and for that you can apparently still go to www.amazingconfidence.com).

What's Up With Your Economy?

What's Up In Your Economy?

It was John Diamond, M.D. who was one of the first people ever to determine why some people have wellness issues that keep them from getting well no matter what they do.

He wrote a very excellent book called, "Your Body Doesn't Lie" which was renamed from it's original title "B.K. Behaviorial Kinesiology" (wonder why?) and somewhat defined, or connected with, the benefits of kinesiology as we have come to know it; also, commonly refered to as muscle-testing. Of course, there are other ways of "dowsing" as a "sixth sense" that we all have or can develop. However, his book was highly recommended to me by Dr. Virgil Crane - developer of Alphabiotics - many years ago, and I still remember how valuable it was to my appreciation of his truly wonderful insight.

It was his original determination that "a person cannot be well unless they want to be well. And they cannot want to be well unless they love themselves. And they cannot love themselves, unless they love their mother; and they cannot love their mother unless they had a good birth experience... and so many people didn't."

After setting up a range where a "test" could be established, he would ask the subject simple questions, like: "Do you love yourself?" And they might say "yes", but would test weak. Then he would ask them if they loved their mother and they would say, "of course I love my mother," and test weak... so there was obviously an issue to explore deeper. And these patients were already having issues that weren't resolving by standard treatments.

The fact is that you may truly believe that you love your mother, and she (your mother) would certainly know in her heart and in her experience, whether she loves you, too. But the real issue might be: did you have a good birth experience? And she may not know or realize to this day that you did not.

So, the question is valid. And wouldn't some people like to know if it may still be a factor that underlies and, in fact, undermines all their best efforts to heal themselves and maintain on a certain level as part of their process?

Modalities like EFT would probably be extremely helpful to help neutralize this wellness issue (and deserving issue) due to some doctor perhaps using forceps when it was accepted as standard procedure to do so and probably still is used by many MDs to deliver babies. Of course, now mostly they just do "caesarians" at the first hint at any complication. But, overlooked as it was then as well as now, anyone's determination to "get well" and be well in all areas of their lives, including financial, may actually depend upon this kind of issue being addressed, and called what it is, in it's own right.

Now this might seem like quite a leap, but that may one day be seen as a contributing factor why there is such a cultural craving in so many people worldwide, perhaps since time immemorial, for the things that can be shown to give an immediate lift (like sugar, for instance)... as an escape from the way they feel about what's going on inside themselves, like unresolved emotional issues; "literal thorns in literal flesh". And therefore, and completely unconsciously, they would continue to project that onto how they feel about what's going on outside themselves. And until it is addressed in its own right it would naturally have to appear "out of balance" and deserving of some consideration.
So even though everyone is entitled to their own unique tastes, why do some people want to kill themselves by consuming toxic things? In the immortal words of Terrence McKenna, "CULTURE is not your friend." And even though we love it and value it and crave it, comfort has rarely proven to be a sign of truth.

Here is a study about the ordinary nature of (refined) sugar, where it came from, and in general,

WHY SUGAR IS TOXIC TO THE BODY

In 1957, Dr William Coda Martin tried to answer the question: When is a food a food and when is it a poison? His working definition of "poison" was: "Medically: Any substance applied to the body, ingested or developed within the body, which causes or may cause disease. Physically: Any substance which inhibits the activity of a catalyst which is a minor substance, chemical or enzyme that activates a reaction."

1.) The dictionary gives an even broader definition for "poison": "to exert a harmful influence on, or to pervert".

Dr Martin classified refined sugar as a poison because it has been depleted of its life forces, vitamins and minerals. "What is left consists of pure, refined carbohydrates. The body cannot utilize this refined starch and carbohydrate unless the depleted proteins, vitamins and minerals are present. Nature supplies these elements in each plant in quantities sufficient to metabolize the carbohydrate in that particular plant.

There is no excess for other added carbohydrates. Incomplete carbohydrate metabolism results in the formation of 'toxic metabolite' such as pyruvic acid and abnormal sugars containing five carbon atoms. Pyruvic acid accumulates in the brain and nervous system and the abnormal sugars in the red blood cells. These toxic metabolites interfere with the respiration of the cells. They cannot get sufficient oxygen to survive and function normally. In time, some of the cells die. This interferes with the function of a part of the body and is the beginning of degenerative disease."

2.) Refined sugar is lethal when ingested by humans because it provides only that which nutritionists describe as "empty" or "naked" calories. It lacks the natural minerals which are present in the sugar beet or cane. In addition, sugar is worse than nothing because it drains and leaches the body of precious vitamins and minerals through the demand its digestion, detoxification and elimination make upon one's entire system.

So essential is balance to our bodies that we have many ways to provide against the sudden shock of a heavy intake of sugar. Minerals such as sodium (from salt), potassium and magnesium (from vegetables), and calcium (from the bones) are mobilized and used in chemical transmutation; neutral acids are produced which attempt to return the acid-alkaline balance factor of the blood to a more normal state.

Sugar taken every day produces a continuously over-acid condition, and more and more minerals are required from deep in the body in the attempt to rectify the imbalance. Finally, in order to protect the blood, so much calcium is taken from the bones and teeth that decay and general weakening begin.

Excess sugar eventually affects every organ in the body. Initially, it is stored in the liver in the form of glucose (glycogen). Since the liver's capacity is limited, a daily intake of refined sugar (above the required amount of natural sugar) soon makes the liver expand like a balloon. When the liver is filled to its maximum capacity, the excess glycogen is returned to the blood in the form of fatty acids. These are taken to every part of the body and stored in the most inactive areas: the belly, the buttocks, the breasts and the thighs.

When these comparatively harmless places are completely filled, fatty acids are then distributed among active organs, such as the heart and kidneys. These begin to slow down; finally their tissues degenerate and turn to fat. The whole body is affected by their reduced ability, and abnormal blood pressure is created.

The parasympathetic nervous system is affected; and organs governed by it, such as the small brain, become inactive or paralyzed. (Normal brain function is rarely thought of as being as biologic as digestion.) The circulatory and lymphatic systems are invaded, and the quality of the red corpuscles starts to change. An overabundance of white cells occurs, and the creation of tissue becomes slower. Our body's tolerance and immunizing power becomes more limited, so we cannot respond properly to extreme attacks, whether they be cold, heat, mosquitoes or microbes.

Excessive sugar has a strong mal-effect on the functioning of the brain. The key to orderly brain function is glutamic acid, a vital compound found in many vegetables. The B vitamins play a major role in dividing glutamic acid into antagonistic-complementary compounds which produce a "proceed" or "control" response in the brain. B vitamins are also manufactured by symbiotic bacteria which live in our intestines. When refined sugar is taken daily, these bacteria wither and die, and our stock of B vitamins gets very low. Too much sugar makes one sleepy; our ability to calculate and remember is lost.

SUGAR: HARMFUL TO HUMANS AND ANIMALS

Shipwrecked sailors who ate and drank nothing but sugar and rum for nine days surely went through some of this trauma; the tales they had to tell created a big public relations problem for the sugar pushers.

This incident occurred when a vessel carrying a cargo of sugar was shipwrecked in 1793. The five surviving sailors were finally rescued after being marooned for nine days. They were in a wasted condition due to starvation, having consumed nothing but sugar and rum.

The eminent French physiologist F. Magendie was inspired by that incident to conduct a series of experiments with animals, the results of which he published in 1816. In the experiments, he fed dogs a diet of sugar or olive oil and water. All the dogs wasted and died.

3.) The shipwrecked sailors and the French physiologist's experimental dogs proved the same point. As a steady diet, sugar is worse than nothing. Plain water can keep you alive for quite some time. Sugar and water can kill you. Humans [and animals] are "unable to subsist on a diet of sugar".

4.) The dead dogs in Professor Magendie's laboratory alerted the sugar industry to the hazards of free scientific inquiry. From that day to this, the sugar industry has invested millions of dollars in behind-the-scenes, subsidized science. The best scientific names that money could buy have been hired, in the hope that they could one day come up with something at least pseudoscientific in the way of glad tidings about sugar.

It has been proved, however, that (1) sugar is a major factor in dental decay; (2) sugar in a person's diet does cause overweight; (3) removal of sugar from diets has cured symptoms of crippling, worldwide diseases such as diabetes, cancer and heart illnesses.

Sir Frederick Banting, the co-discoverer of insulin, noticed in 1929 in Panama that, among sugar plantation owners who ate large amounts of their refined stuff, diabetes was common. Among native cane-cutters, who only got to chew the raw cane, he saw no diabetes.

However, the story of the public relations attempts on the part of the sugar manufacturers began in Britain in 1808 when the Committee of West India reported to the House of Commons that a prize of twenty-five guineas had been offered to anyone who could come up with the most "satisfactory" experiments to prove that unrefined sugar was good for feeding and fattening oxen, cows, hogs and sheep.

5.) Food for animals is often seasonal, always expensive. Sugar, by then, was dirt cheap. People weren't eating it fast enough.

Naturally, the attempt to feed livestock with sugar and molasses in England in 1808 was a disaster. When the Committee on West India made its fourth report to the House of Commons, one Member of Parliament, John Curwin, reported that he had tried to feed sugar and molasses to calves without success. He suggested that perhaps someone should try again by sneaking sugar and molasses into skimmed milk. Had anything come of that, you can be sure the West Indian sugar merchants would have spread the news around the world. After this singular lack of success in pushing sugar in cow pastures, the West Indian sugar merchants gave up.

With undaunted zeal for increasing the market demand for the most important agricultural product of the West Indies, the Committee of West India was reduced to a tactic that has served the sugar pushers for almost 200 years: irrelevant and transparently silly testimonials from faraway, inaccessible people with some kind of "scientific" credentials. One early commentator called them "hired consciences".

The House of Commons committee was so hard-up for local cheerleaders on the sugar question, it was reduced to quoting a doctor from faraway Philadelphia, a leader of the recent American colonial rebellion: "The great Dr Rush of Philadelphia is reported to have said that 'sugar contains more nutrients in the same bulk than any other known substance'." (Emphasis added.) At the same time, the same Dr Rush was preaching that masturbation was the cause of insanity! If a weasel-worded statement like that was quoted, one can be sure no animal doctor could be found in Britain who would recommend sugar for the care and feeding of cows, pigs or sheep.

While preparing his epochal volume, A History of Nutrition, published in 1957, Professor E. V. McCollum (Johns Hopkins University), sometimes called America's foremost nutritionist and certainly a pioneer in the field, reviewed approximately 200,000 published scientific papers, recording experiments with food, their properties, their utilisation and their effects on animals and men. The material covered the period from the mid-18th century to 1940.

From this great repository of scientific inquiry, McCollum selected those experiments which he regarded as significant "to relate the story of progress in discovering human error in this segment of science [of nutrition]". Professor McCollum failed to record a single controlled scientific experiment with sugar between 1816 and 1940.

Unhappily, we must remind ourselves that scientists today, and always, accomplish little without a sponsor. The protocols of modern science have compounded the costs of scientific inquiry.

We have no right to be surprised when we read the introduction to McCollum's A History of Nutrition and find that "The author and publishers are indebted to The Nutrition Foundation, Inc., for a grant provided to meet a portion of the cost of publication of this book". What, you might ask, is The Nutrition Foundation, Inc.?

The author and the publishers don't tell you that it happens to be a front organisation for the leading sugar-pushing conglomerates in the food business, including the American Sugar Refining Company, Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola, Curtis Candy Co., General Foods, General Mills, Nestlé Co., Pet Milk Co. and Sunshine Biscuits-about 45 such companies in all.

Perhaps the most significant thing about McCollum's 1957 history was what he left out: a monumental earlier work described by an eminent Harvard professor as "one of those epochal pieces of research which makes every other investigator desirous of kicking himself because he never thought of doing the same thing".

In the 1930s, a research dentist from Cleveland, Ohio, Dr Weston A. Price, travelled all over the world-from the lands of the Eskimos to the South Sea Islands, from Africa to New Zealand. His Nutrition and Physical Degeneration: A Comparison of Primitive and Modern Diets and Their Effects, which is illustrated with hundreds of photographs, was first published in 1939.

6.) Dr. Price took the whole world as his laboratory. His devastating conclusion, recorded in horrifying detail in area after area, was simple. People who live under so-called backward primitive conditions had excellent teeth and wonderful general health. They ate natural, unrefined food from their own locale. As soon as refined, sugared foods were imported as a result of contact with "civilisation", physical degeneration began in a way that was definitely observable within a single generation.

Any credibility the sugar pushers have is based on our ignorance of works like that of Dr Price. Sugar manufacturers keep trying, hoping and contributing generous research grants to colleges and universities; but the research laboratories never come up with anything solid the manufacturers can use. Invariably, the research results are bad news.

"Let us go to the ignorant savage, consider his way of eating and be wise," Harvard professor Ernest Hooten said in Apes, Men, and Morons.

7.) "Let us cease pretending that toothbrushes and toothpaste are any more important than shoe brushes and shoe polish. It is store food that has given us store teeth."

When the researchers bite the hands that feed them, and the news gets out, it's embarrassing all around. In 1958, Time magazine reported that a Harvard biochemist and his assistants had worked with myriads of mice for more than ten years, bankrolled by the Sugar Research Foundation, Inc. to the tune of $57,000, to find out how sugar causes dental cavities and how to prevent this.

It took them ten years to discover that there was no way to prevent sugar causing dental decay. When the researchers reported their findings in the Dental Association Journal, their source of money dried up. The Sugar Research Foundation withdrew its support.

The more that the scientists disappointed them, the more the sugar pushers had to rely on the ad men.

SUCROSE: "PURE" ENERGY AT A PRICE

When calories became the big thing in the 1920s, and everybody was learning to count them, the sugar pushers turned up with a new pitch. They boasted there were 2,500 calories in a pound of sugar. A little over a quarter-pound of sugar would produce 20 per cent of the total daily quota.

"If you could buy all your food energy as cheaply as you buy calories in sugar," they told us, "your board bill for the year would be very low. If sugar were seven cents a pound, it would cost less than $35 for a whole year." A very inexpensive way to kill yourself.

"Of course, we don't live on any such unbalanced diet," they admitted later. "But that figure serves to point out how inexpensive sugar is as an energy-building food. What was once a luxury only a privileged few could enjoy is now a food for the poorest of people."

Later, the sugar pushers advertised that sugar was chemically pure, topping Ivory soap in that department, being 99.9 per cent pure against Ivory's vaunted 99.44 per cent. "No food of our everyday diet is purer," we were assured.

What was meant by purity, besides the unarguable fact that all vitamins, minerals, salts, fibres and proteins had been removed in the refining process? Well, the sugar pushers came up with a new slant on purity. "You don't have to sort it like beans, wash it like rice. Every grain is like every other. No waste attends its use. No useless bones like in meat, no grounds like coffee."

"Pure" is a favourite adjective of the sugar pushers because it means one thing to the chemists and another thing to the ordinary mortals. When honey is labelled pure, this means that it is in its natural state (stolen directly from the bees who made it), with no adulteration with sucrose to stretch it and no harmful chemical residues which may have been sprayed on the flowers.

It does not mean that the honey is free from minerals like iodine, iron, calcium, phosphorus or multiple vitamins. So effective is the purification process which sugar cane and beets undergo in the refineries that sugar ends up as chemically pure as the morphine or the heroin a chemist has on the laboratory shelves. What nutritional virtue this abstract chemical purity represents, the sugar pushers never tell us.

Beginning with World War I, the sugar pushers coated their propaganda with a preparedness pitch. "Dietitians have known the high food value of sugar for a long time," said an industry tract of the 1920s. "But it took World War I to bring this home. The energy-building power of sugar reaches the muscles in minutes and it was of value to soldiers as a ration given them just before an attack was launched." The sugar pushers have been harping on the energy-building power of sucrose for years because it contains nothing else. Caloric energy and habit-forming taste: that's what sucrose has, and nothing else.

All other foods contain energy plus. All foods contain some nutrients in the way of proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins or minerals, or all of these. Sucrose contains caloric energy, period.
The "quick" energy claim the sugar pushers talk about, which drives reluctant doughboys over the top and drives children up the wall, is based on the fact that refined sucrose is not digested in the mouth or the stomach but passes directly to the lower intestines and thence to the bloodstream. The extra speed with which sucrose enters the bloodstream does more harm than good.

Much of the public confusion about refined sugar is compounded by language. Sugars are classified by chemists as "carbohydrates". This manufactured word means "a substance containing carbon with oxygen and hydrogen". If chemists want to use these hermetic terms in their laboratories when they talk to one another, fine.

The use of the word "carbohydrate" outside the laboratory-especially in food labelling and advertising lingo-to describe both natural, complete cereal grains (which have been a principal food of mankind for thousands of years) and man-refined sugar (which is a manufactured drug and principal poison of mankind for only a few hundred years) is demonstrably wicked. This kind of confusion makes possible the flimflam practised by sugar pushers to confound anxious mothers into thinking kiddies need sugar to survive.

In 1973, the Sugar Information Foundation placed full-page advertisements in national magazines. Actually, the ads were disguised retractions they were forced to make in a strategic retreat after a lengthy tussle with the Federal Trade Commission over an earlier ad campaign claiming that a little shot of sugar before meals would "curb" your appetite. "You need carbohydrates. And it so happens that sugar is the best-tasting carbohydrate."

You might as well say everybody needs liquids every day. It so happens that many people find champagne is the best-tasting liquid. How long would the Women's Christian Temperance Union let the liquor lobby get away with that one?

The use of the word "carbohydrate" to describe sugar is deliberately misleading. Since the improved labelling of nutritional properties was required on packages and cans, refined carbohydrates like sugar are lumped together with those carbohydrates which may or may not be refined.

The several types of carbohydrates are added together for an overall carbohydrate total. Thus, the effect of the label is to hide the sugar content from the unwary buyer. Chemists add to the confusion by using the word "sugar" to describe an entire group of substances that are similar but not identical.

Glucose is a sugar found usually with other sugars, in fruits and vegetables. It is a key material in the metabolism of all plants and animals. Many of our principal foods are converted into glucose in our bodies. Glucose is always present in our bloodstream, and it is often called "blood sugar".

Dextrose, also called "corn sugar", is derived synthetically from starch. Fructose is fruit sugar. Maltose is malt sugar. Lactose is milk sugar. Sucrose is refined sugar made from sugar cane and sugar beet.

Glucose has always been an essential element in the human bloodstream. Sucrose addiction is something new in the history of the human animal. To use the word "sugar" to describe two substances which are far from being identical, which have different chemical structures and which affect the body in profoundly different ways compounds confusion.

It makes possible more flimflam from the sugar pushers who tell us how important sugar is as an essential component of the human body, how it is oxidised to produce energy, how it is metabolised to produce warmth, and so on.

They're talking about glucose, of course, which is manufactured in our bodies. However, one is led to believe that the manufacturers are talking about the sucrose which is made in their refineries. When the word "sugar" can mean the glucose in your blood as well as the sucrose in your Coca-Cola, it's great for the sugar pushers but it's rough on everybody else.

People have been bamboozled into thinking of their bodies the way they think of their cheque accounts. If they suspect they have low blood sugar, they are programmed to snack on vending machine candies and sodas in order to raise their blood sugar level. Actually, this is the worst thing to do. The level of glucose in their blood is apt to be low because they are addicted to sucrose. People who kick sucrose addiction and stay off sucrose find that the glucose level of their blood returns to normal and stays there.

Since the late 1960s, millions of Americans have returned to natural food. A new type of store, the natural food store, has encouraged many to become dropouts from the supermarket. Natural food can be instrumental in restoring health. Many people, therefore, have come to equate the word "natural" with "healthy". So the sugar pushers have begun to pervert the word "natural" in order to mislead the public.

"Made from natural ingredients", the television sugar-pushers tell us about product after product. The word "from" is not accented on television. It should be. Even refined sugar is made from natural ingredients. There is nothing new about that. The natural ingredients are cane and beets. But that four-letter word "from" hardly suggests that 90 per cent of the cane and beet have been removed. Heroin, too, could be advertised as being made from natural ingredients. The opium poppy is as natural as the sugar beet. It's what man does with it that tells the story.

If you want to avoid sugar in the supermarket, there is only one sure way. Don't buy anything unless it says on the label prominently, in plain English: "No sugar added". Use of the word "carbohydrate" as a "scientific" word for sugar has become a standard defence strategy with sugar pushers and many of their medical apologists. It's their security blanket.

CORRECT FOOD COMBINING

Whether it's sugared cereal or pastry and black coffee for breakfast, whether it's hamburgers and Coca-Cola for lunch or the full "gourmet" dinner in the evening, chemically the average American diet is a formula that guarantees bubble, bubble, stomach trouble.

Unless you've taken too much insulin and, in a state of insulin shock, need sugar as an antidote, hardly anyone ever has cause to take sugar alone. Humans need sugar as much as they need the nicotine in tobacco. Crave it is one thing-need it is another.

From the days of the Persian Empire to our own, sugar has usually been used to hop up the flavour of other food and drink, as an ingredient in the kitchen or as a condiment at the table. Let us leave aside for the moment the known effect of sugar (long-term and short-term) on the entire system and concentrate on the effect of sugar taken in combination with other daily foods.
When Grandma warned that sugared cookies before meals "will spoil your supper", she knew what she was talking about. Her explanation might not have satisfied a chemist but, as with many traditional axioms from the Mosaic law on kosher food and separation in the kitchen, such rules are based on years of trial and error and are apt to be right on the button. Most modern research in combining food is a laboured discovery of the things Grandma took for granted.

Any diet or regimen undertaken for the single purpose of losing weight is dangerous, by definition. Obesity is talked about and treated as a disease in 20th-century America. Obesity is not a disease. It is only a symptom, a sign, a warning that your body is out of order. Dieting to lose weight is as silly and dangerous as taking aspirin to relieve a headache before you know the reason for the headache. Getting rid of a symptom is like turning off an alarm. It leaves the basic cause untouched.

Any diet or regimen undertaken with any objective short of restoration of total health of your body is dangerous. Many overweight people are undernourished. (Dr H. Curtis Wood stresses this point in his 1971 book, Overfed But Undernourished.) Eating less can aggravate this condition, unless one is concerned with the quality of the food instead of just its quantity.

Many people-doctors included-assume that if weight is lost, fat is lost. This is not necessarily so. Any diet which lumps all carbohydrates together is dangerous. Any diet which does not consider the quality of carbohydrates and makes the crucial life-and-death distinction between natural, unrefined carbohydrates like whole grains and vegetables and man-refined carbohydrates like sugar and white flour is dangerous. Any diet which includes refined sugar and white flour, no matter what "scientific" name is applied to them, is dangerous.

Kicking sugar and white flour and substituting whole grains, vegetables and natural fruits in season, is the core of any sensible natural regimen. Changing the quality of your carbohydrates can change the quality of your health and life. If you eat natural food of good quality, quantity tends to take care of itself. Nobody is going to eat a half-dozen sugar beets or a whole case of sugar cane. Even if they do, it will be less dangerous than a few ounces of sugar.

Sugar of all kinds-natural sugars, such as those in honey and fruit (fructose), as well as the refined white stuff (sucrose)-tends to arrest the secretion of gastric juices and have an inhibiting effect on the stomach's natural ability to move. Sugars are not digested in the mouth, like cereals, or in the stomach, like animal flesh. When taken alone, they pass quickly through the stomach into the small intestine.

When sugars are eaten with other foods-perhaps meat and bread in a sandwich-they are held up in the stomach for a while. The sugar in the bread and the Coke sit there with the hamburger and the bun waiting for them to be digested. While the stomach is working on the animal protein and the refined starch in the bread, the addition of the sugar practically guarantees rapid acid fermentation under the conditions of warmth and moisture existing in the stomach.

One lump of sugar in your coffee after a sandwich is enough to turn your stomach into a fermenter. One soda with a hamburger is enough to turn your stomach into a still. Sugar on cereal-whether you buy it already sugared in a box or add it yourself-almost guarantees acid fermentation.

Since the beginning of time, natural laws were observed, in both senses of that word, when it came to eating foods in combination. Birds have been observed eating insects at one period in the day and seeds at another. Other animals tend to eat one food at a time. Flesh-eating animals take their protein raw and straight.

In the Orient, it is traditional to eat yang before yin. Miso soup (fermented soybean protein, yang) for breakfast; raw fish (more yang protein) at the beginning of the meal; afterwards comes the rice (which is less yang than the miso and fish); and then the vegetables which are yin. If you ever eat with a traditional Japanese family and you violate this order, the Orientals (if your friends) will correct you courteously but firmly.

The law observed by Orthodox Jews prohibits many combinations at the same meal, especially flesh and dairy products. Special utensils for the dairy meal and different utensils for the flesh meal reinforce that taboo at the food's source in the kitchen.

Man learned very early in the game what improper combinations of food could do to the human system. When he got a stomach ache from combining raw fruit with grain, or honey with porridge, he didn't reach for an antacid tablet. He learned not to eat that way. When gluttony and excess became widespread, religious codes and commandments were invoked against it.

Gluttony is a capital sin in most religions; but there are no specific religious warnings or commandments against refined sugar because sugar abuse-like drug abuse-did not appear on the world scene until centuries after holy books had gone to press.

"Why must we accept as normal what we find in a race of sick and weakened human beings?" Dr. Herbert M. Shelton asks. "Must we always take it for granted that the present eating practices of civilized men are normal?... Foul stools, loose stools, impacted stools, pebbly stools, much foul gas, colitis, haemorrhoids, bleeding with stools, the need for toilet paper are swept into the orbit of the normal."

8.) When starches and complex sugars (like those in honey and fruits) are digested, they are broken down into simple sugars called "monosaccharides", which are usable substances-nutriments. When starches and sugars are taken together and undergo fermentation, they are broken down into carbon dioxide, acetic acid, alcohol and water. With the exception of the water, all these are unusable substances-poisons.

When proteins are digested, they are broken down into amino acids, which are usable substances-nutriments. When proteins are taken with sugar, they putrefy; they are broken down into a variety of ptomaines and leucomaines, which are nonusable substances-poisons.

Enzymic digestion of foods prepares them for use by our body. Bacterial decomposition makes them unfit for use by our body. The first process gives us nutriments; the second gives us poisons.

Much that passes for modern nutrition is obsessed with a mania for quantitative counting. The body is treated like a cheque account. Deposit calories (like dollars) and withdraw energy. Deposit proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals-balanced quantitatively-and the result, theoretically, is a healthy body.

People qualify as healthy today if they can crawl out of bed, get to the office and sign in. If they can't make it, call the doctor to qualify for sick pay, hospitalisation, rest cure-anything from a day's pay without working to an artificial kidney, courtesy of the taxpayers.

But what doth it profit someone if the theoretically required calories and nutrients are consumed daily, yet this random eat-on-the-run, snack-time collection of foods ferments and putrefies in the digestive tract? What good is it if the body is fed protein, only to have it putrefy in the gastrointestinal canal? Carbohydrates that ferment in the digestive tract are converted into alcohol and acetic acid, not digestible monosaccharides.

"To derive sustenance from foods eaten, they must be digested," Shelton warned years ago. "They must not rot."

Sure, the body can get rid of poisons through the urine and the pores; the amount of poisons in the urine is taken as an index to what's going on in the intestine. The body does establish a tolerance for these poisons, just as it adjusts gradually to an intake of heroin. But, says Shelton, "the discomfort from accumulation of gas, the bad breath, and foul and unpleasant odors are as undesirable as are the poisons".

SUGAR AND MENTAL HEALTH

9.) In the Dark Ages, troubled souls were rarely locked up for going off their rocker. Such confinement began in the Age of Enlightenment, after sugar made the transition from apothecary's prescription to candymaker's confection.

10.) "The great confinement of the insane", as one historian calls it, began in the late 17th century, after sugar consumption in Britain had zoomed in 200 years from a pinch or two in a barrel of beer, here and there, to more than two million pounds per year. By that time, physicians in London had begun to observe and record terminal physical signs and symptoms of the "sugar blues".

Meanwhile, when sugar eaters did not manifest obvious terminal physical symptoms and the physicians were professionally bewildered, patients were no longer pronounced bewitched, but mad, insane, emotionally disturbed. Laziness, fatigue, debauchery, parental displeasure-any one problem was sufficient cause for people under twenty-five to be locked up in the first Parisian mental hospitals.

All it took to be incarcerated was a complaint from parents, relatives or the omnipotent parish priest. Wet nurses with their babies, pregnant youngsters, retarded or defective children, senior citizens, paralytics, epileptics, prostitutes or raving lunatics-anyone wanted off the streets and out of sight was put away. The mental hospital succeeded witch-hunting and heresy-hounding as a more enlightened and humane method of social control. The physician and priest handled the dirty work of street sweeping in return for royal favours.

Initially, when the General Hospital was established in Paris by royal decree, one per cent of the city's population was locked up. From that time until the 20 century, as the consumption of sugar went up and up-especially in the cities-so did the number of people who were put away in the General Hospital. Three hundred years later, the "emotionally disturbed" can be turned into walking automatons, their brains controlled with psychoactive drugs.

Today, pioneers of orthomolecular psychiatry, such as Dr Abram Hoffer, Dr Allan Cott, Dr A. Cherkin as well as Dr Linus Pauling, have confirmed that mental illness is a myth and that emotional disturbance can be merely the first symptom of the obvious inability of the human system to handle the stress of sugar dependency.

In Orthomolecular Psychiatry, Dr Pauling writes: "The functioning of the brain and nervous tissue is more sensitively dependent on the rate of chemical reactions than the functioning of other organs and tissues. I believe that mental disease is for the most part caused by abnormal reaction rates, as determined by genetic constitution and diet, and by abnormal molecular concentrations of essential substances... Selection of food (and drugs) in a world that is undergoing rapid scientific and technological change may often be far from the best."

11.) In Megavitamin B3 Therapy for Schizophrenia, Dr Abram Hoffer notes: "Patients are also advised to follow a good nutritional program with restriction of sucrose and sucrose-rich foods."

12.) Clinical research with hyperactive and psychotic children, as well as those with brain injuries and learning disabilities, has shown:

"An abnormally high family history of diabetes-that is, parents and grandparents who cannot handle sugar; an abnormally high incidence of low blood glucose, or functional hypoglycemia in the children themselves, which indicates that their systems cannot handle sugar; dependence on a high level of sugar in the diets of the very children who cannot handle it.

"Inquiry into the dietary history of patients diagnosed as schizophrenic reveals the diet of their choice is rich in sweets, candy, cakes, coffee, caffeinated beverages, and foods prepared with sugar. These foods, which stimulate the adrenals, should be eliminated or severely restricted."

13.) The avant-garde of modern medicine has rediscovered what the lowly sorceress learned long ago through painstaking study of nature.

"In more than twenty years of psychiatric work," writes Dr Thomas Szasz, "I have never known a clinical psychologist to report, on the basis of a projective test, that the subject is a normal, mentally healthy person. While some witches may have survived dunking, no 'madman' survives psychological testing...there is no behavior or person that a modern psychiatrist cannot plausibly diagnose as abnormal or ill."

14.) So it was in the 17th century. Once the doctor or the exorcist had been called in, he was under pressure to do something. When he tried and failed, the poor patient had to be put away. It is often said that surgeons bury their mistakes. Physicians and psychiatrists put them away; lock 'em up.

In the 1940s, Dr. John Tintera rediscovered the vital importance of the endocrine system, especially the adrenal glands, in "pathological mentation"-or "brain boggling". In 200 cases under treatment for hypoadrenocorticism (the lack of adequate adrenal cortical hormone production or imbalance among these hormones), he discovered that the chief complaints of his patients were often similar to those found in persons whose systems were unable to handle sugar: fatigue, nervousness, depression, apprehension, craving for sweets, inability to handle alcohol, inability to concentrate, allergies, low blood pressure. Sugar blues! [Emphasis mine.]

Dr Tintera finally insisted that all his patients submit to a four-hour glucose tolerance test (GTT) to find out whether or not they could handle sugar. The results were so startling that the laboratories double-checked their techniques, then apologised for what they believed to be incorrect readings. What mystified them was the low, flat curves derived from disturbed, early adolescents. This laboratory procedure had been previously carried out only for patients with physical findings presumptive of diabetes.

Dorland's definition of schizophrenia (Bleuler's dementia praecox) includes the phrase, "often recognized during or shortly after adolescence", and further, in reference to hebephrenia and catatonia, "coming on soon after the onset of puberty".

These conditions might seem to arise or become aggravated at puberty, but probing into the patient's past will frequently reveal indications which were present at birth, during the first year of life, and through the preschool and grammar school years. Each of these periods has its own characteristic clinical picture. This picture becomes more marked at pubescence and often causes school officials to complain of juvenile delinquency or underachievement.

A glucose tolerance test at any of these periods could alert parents and physicians and could save innumerable hours and small fortunes spent in looking into the child's psyche and home environment for maladjustments of questionable significance in the emotional development of the average child.

The negativism, hyperactivity and obstinate resentment of discipline are absolute indications for at least the minimum laboratory tests: urinalysis, complete bloodcount, PBI determination, and the five-hour glucose tolerance test. A GTT can be performed on a young child by the micro-method without undue trauma to the patient. As a matter of fact, I have been urging that these four tests be routine for all patients, even before a history or physical examination is undertaken.

In almost all discussions on drug addiction, alcoholism and schizophrenia, it is claimed that there is no definite constitutional type that falls prey to these afflictions. Almost universally, the statement is made that all of these individuals are emotionally immature. It has long been our goal to persuade every physician, whether oriented toward psychiatry, genetics or physiology, to recognise that one type of endocrine individual is involved in the majority of these cases: the hypoadrenocortic.

15.) Tintera published several epochal medical papers. Over and over, he emphasised that improvement, alleviation, palliation or cure was "dependent upon the restoration of the normal function of the total organism". His first prescribed item of treatment was diet.

Over and over again, he said that "the importance of diet cannot be overemphasised". He laid out a sweeping permanent injunction against sugar in all forms and guises.

While Egas Moniz of Portugal was receiving a Nobel Prize for devising the lobotomy operation for the treatment of schizophrenia, Tintera's reward was to be harassment and hounding by the pundits of organised medicine. While Tintera's sweeping implication of sugar as a cause of what was called "schizophrenia" could be confined to medical journals, he was let alone, ignored. He could be tolerated-if he stayed in his assigned territory, endocrinology.

Even when he suggested that alcoholism was related to adrenals that had been whipped by sugar abuse, they let him alone; because the medicos had decided there was nothing in alcoholism for them except aggravation, they were satisfied to abandon it to Alcoholics Anonymous. However, when Tintera dared to suggest in a magazine of general circulation that "it is ridiculous to talk of kinds of allergies when there is only one kind, which is adrenal glands impaired...by sugar", he could no longer be ignored.

The allergists had a great racket going for themselves. Allergic souls had been entertaining each other for years with tall tales of exotic allergies-everything from horse feathers to lobster tails. Along comes someone who says none of this matters: take them off sugar, and keep them off it.
Perhaps Tintera's untimely death in 1969 at the age of fifty-seven made it easier for the medical profession to accept discoveries that had once seemed as far out as the simple oriental medical thesis of genetics and diet, yin and yang.

Today, doctors all over the world are repeating what Tintera announced years ago: nobody, but nobody, should ever be allowed to begin what is called "psychiatric treatment", anyplace, anywhere, unless and until they have had a glucose tolerance test to discover if they can handle sugar.

So-called preventive medicine goes further and suggests that since we only think we can handle sugar because we initially have strong adrenals, why wait until they give us signs and signals that they're worn out? Take the load off now by eliminating sugar in all forms and guises, starting with that soda pop you have in your hand.

The mind truly boggles when one glances over what passes for medical history. Through the centuries, troubled souls have been barbecued for bewitchment, exorcised for possession, locked up for insanity, tortured for masturbatory madness, psychiatrised for psychosis, lobotomised for schizophrenia. How many patients would have listened if the local healer had told them that the only thing ailing them was sugar blues?

I have submitted this "article" in it's entirety for my own convenience, due to the fact that some folks will undoubtedly continue to use extremely copious amounts of sugar and that is certainly their own affair. I would submit that everyone is entitled to use all they want for whatever need they have to do so. However, for anyone's further interest in sugar alternatives, like sucralose, for instance, please refer to:

"Sweet Misery" on U-Tube.com.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTTw0l_X-Vs&mode=related&search=
for some plain facts about things that "cannot be made non-poisonous" no matter how conclusive much study makes to clearly establish that "only this amount" as we use it in our product is safe to consume and has never been shown to be harmful to anyone. As in, kill them outright.
And the little skull and crossbones in the ice cubes in the glass on the Smirnoff billboards are subliminally tied to the knowledge that some people really do want to kill themselves and clubs where anyone can "pick your poison" is just a fine thing to cater to when culturally it has been so long engrained in us to actually appeal to that element in our society that I for one would simply like to see healed in our consciousness as a race. Human, that is.
And that is not to say we don't all have a dark side. And rightfully we should. As something to explore. But a 'go to hell' attitude is something that I am personally working on in myself.

It's pretty plain that you may have to dig a bit for real alternatives to satisfy a natural craving, or "sweet tooth" naturally, but "Lick The Sugar Habit" (a very good book by Dr. Lynn Andrews) might be a helpful place to start. She explained that she was about to graduate from college (Stanford) in California when she saw a professor give a demonstration about what happens to a person when they stick their arm up to the elbow in a bucket of ice water, and what happens to their blood immediately (calcium goes up; phosphorus goes down)... which is the same thing that happens to a person who eats just three grams of sugar. Since the person didn't just eat any calcium, where did that calcium come from? She changed her major and went back to school for three more years to figure that out. It's pretty fascinating what she discovered. It puts a person into "flight or fight" mode. The calcium mobilizes the muscles to flight, and the phosphorus shuts down cognition. It is stress on the body to say the least. Lynn's advice for anyone is to start gradually using less and less sugar in products you make and not buy, and weaning the taste buds from sugar as an acquired taste. There would be a natural evolution back to what is natural since everyone knows that a naturally sweet piece of fruit like an orange won't taste sweet after just one bite of cake.
So, while everyone's different... who wants to eat poison? Even a fool who knows he is a fool is not a great fool.

Many people (myself included) have found Agave Syrup to be a wonderful sweetner, and is known to be tolerated by diabetics; and Rice Bran Solubles (by Pure Planet Products / 562-951-1124) is a very good way to maintain healthy cholesterol and normal blood glucose levels. Ask for Patrick and tell him I sent you. It doesn't require much, is very delicious, dissolves easily in the mouth, and adds a nice, nutty flavor to already healthy beverages. Apparently, all vitamins (except B6) in Japan come from "rice polish." So it's got much to recommend it, including EFAs. That means you can pretty much live on it... although it might be fairly boring even if it is a real super food. But even diabetics who cannot tolerate any starch in a meal and certainly no sugar, can take some rice bran before their meal and can even drink wine and a huge French gourmet meal, and test afterwards and still not have elevated sugar levels. That's what "balanced" things can do for even sick people.

Now, if you just want to feel great and know you're getting every nutrient you need on a cell level; not to mention to hear an amazing story about the discovery of the all-natural product that's changing lives everywhere, check out FrequenSea. It is highly recommended by a growing number of very smart doctors as the only vitamin anyone would ever need. Just a half a fluid oz. once or twice a day is something most people actually feel right away; mentally and physically. It has apparently 400 times higher energy than any natural land plant source ever tested, and not a single harmful ingredient. Please do call Deborah Davis at 970-484-3137 and tell her I sent you. She'll probably send you a free sample if you need one. But she will gladly bring you up to speed very quickly with just a phone call. It might even be Divine Intervention for all we know; the product line is really amazing. Ask her about "Rainmaker". I called her back only 20 minutes after we had just spoken once the product had arrived and she was not surprised. I believe everyone should try this product; it actully raises your vibration... in a most extraordinary way.

I hope to provide more information on good business building based on good health, good habits and good ideas to follow... so feel free to return frequently for more to UPLIFT us onward and forward on our most abundantly TOGETHER and worthwhile journey, and Business Building With Gold Star Solutions. And thank you for leaving a post (or comment.)

Until my next post,

Many Blessings from knowing the magic of Psalm 91,

Here's an UPLIFT from "Days of Healing Days of Joy" for Your Business Model

So, here's a sweet little dose of insight from "Days of Healing, Days of Joy" by Earnie Larsen:

"God grant me the courage to face conflict without running. I am becoming more responsible every day.

Today I will let go of outcomes whether real or imagined. I will expect nothing and trust everything.

"Self will run riot" is a phrase often used to describe the kind of stubborn, single-minded ferocity we sometimes substitute for problem management. Rather than back off and rethink a problem, rather than talk it over with a friend or pray for guidance, we sometimes try to force a solution by sheer brute force of will. If an 80% effort doesn't do it, we rev up to 110%. If 6 hard pushes don't do it, maybe 60 will -- so we keep on pushing.

More often than not, unfortunately, we focus this awesome intensity on problems that we can't change, like the ways in which other people choose to run their lives, rather than on problems we can change, like losing weight or quitting smoking. We waste enormous amounts of energy, and risk injury by trying to coax or bully other people into doing what we want them to do. And worse - the business of living our own lives goes untended while we're minding the business of others.

Today, I will hope for everything but expect nothing from the people I love. I will insist on progress from myself only.

Only continued effort wins; we can't lose if we don't quit."

"The price of greatness is responsibility." -- Winston Churchill

---------------------------------------------------------

So here is an additional insight about use of the word "problem" for our daily challenges in life and business; it means "difficult to understand." So, basically, if we just stop using that word... surely success and a breakthrough is bound to be closer at hand.

Here's one Affirmation that you may enjoy using: "I AM A Tremendous Success By Divine Right And I Claim That Right Now Because I Deserve It. Thank You, Universe For Knowing All About Me Exactly And For Making My Success So REAL For Me. "

Until my next post,

Many Blessings to You, and Real Magic in Your Business,

Stuart

"A Network Marketing Business Model gives people the opportunity with very low risk and very low financial commitment to build their own income-generating asset and acquire great wealth."
-- Randy Gage

Monday, July 23, 2007

Ok, Hi there,
Let me introduce myself. My name is Stuart Miller and I am an internet marketer. And, of course, naturally, marketing is all about sales, and what it can do for your lifestyle. Here I rely on a quote to make that important: "Nothing happens until something is sold." And ultimately, that is pretty true... unless you're born wealthy.

But to make an important distinction here: sales is not always about marketing. Typically, with sales, one can be extremely limited by the very product or service one is selling; with how the item(s) are sold, and quite often to whom they are sold. Like Mark Twain once said, " When everyone is digging for gold, I want to be selling shovels." And, while it could simply be that easy, generally how one chooses to market does not necessarily need to be complex even when lots of competition is involved. That is why testing and metrics are so vital in todays marketplace. And rarely has that been more important to note than it is today. In fact, competition is really what keeps us on our toes. And that's important if you want to cultivate some basic survival instincts. And that's not a bad thing to consider for not too far down the line.
Generally, it is up to the individual (or the proprietor, principle, or team) to rely on one or more method to sell what they are offering, and ideally in a way that has been tested and proven to work in their industry (or, in fact perhaps, not work so well... or even at all.)

The important thing is that when one begins to look at marketing, they are taking positive action, rather than waiting for certain financial disaster, while seeing clearly what's not working. They are setting the stage to improve their lives. And that is something you can do too. "And to quote people like Jay Abraham, for one: "When you change your marketing, you change your results." And that's what it is all about; growing one's business (or businesses) with results that absolutely flow into our lives like clockwork if we set up do it right. And listen to the right people.

Multi-level marketing, mail order business and other in-home businesses have never been more popular than they are today; very popular. If this way of earning extra income appeals to you, by all means check out the possibilities. But these are not the only ways you can operate from home. Now I have heard of a very interesting method that is fairly new to the internet that average people can earn immediate cash with sales and that realistically should appeal to even the most seasoned MLM-ers and direct sales marketers. One can find information about this remarkable new program by clicking on this link: http://www.pwfgoldstar.com

Of course, there are many ways to become a successful Internet Marketer! In reality, the options for getting started in your own Internet Marketing business are almost unlimited.

But if you're anything like me you know full well the challenges of marketing anything online on a shoestring budget, no matter how good the product is... even that people really would want it.
Perhaps they just need you to simply be a tour guide for them so they could see clearly the value of your product or service.

So, with that said, let me share with you one of the things I have found so far. One of the #1 recommendations for people with budgetary considerations just starting out to market their product or service online (or so I have heard, and experienced) is: Safelists.

Safelists are a method to market to the masses (for no cost or low cost) with volume, volume; turn up the volume tactics. Unfortunately, in this day and age, email marketing and advertising that's mixed-in wildly with slathers of other remarkable/
unremarkable ads is very overhyped and besides being often non-targeted, it is quite possibly the most overworked method of creating what might best be described as legalized SPAM to most people... regardless of the so-called "opt-in" factor of these "safelists."

Obviously, spammers spam to make money online. But how does that really serve anyone's highest and best purpose? This is where I have to draw the line. It's targeted traffic we want... and safelists, obviously have, in fact, been known to actually work to a certain extent. But rarely does a product sell itself without some kind of impulse to buy. Good copywriters know all about emotional triggers. And where value can be actually communicated in this way - if you have decent (or great) copy - even in the hands of a novice it could still likely prove to be a winner. And there's a lot to be said about sheer numbers, and doing something action-oriented (or just taking action) is absolutely better than nothing.

And that's where the strategy of market research comes into play and knowing about business models that even include "safelists" as a way to market. Even seasoned marketers believe in it and include it as a viable method proven to work; and because there are in fact so many safelist companies out there on the internet, they obviously do work.

But, then again, obviously, there's always more we can do (and know to do) to turn up the volume on our results by leveraging not only our own growing intellectual property, but also the hard work and planning and experience that others have already put into their programs, and which they naturally unashamedly and often invite you to align with, is also capable of really paying off. Here is where the time it takes to research and find those "attractor factors" and integrate them into our lives is time well invested. It all boils down to the determination in one's self to create the kind of life you do want that really is worth living. I would call it "a well-spent life." Complete with dream garden.

Now, back to spam, just "content", and a cluttered inbox... and where too much and just too many offers are just that to most people... to the point where soon, without addressing the reason you're attempting to get your widget (or your really great product) before your eager and hungry market, you'll be classified as just another online marketer who is quite possibly more after their money than actually attempting to build a long-term relationship with your list. And that's where motive (power) and finding your "why" comes in.

This is important when you really must clarify - and really get clear at some point - just why you are "marketing" in the first place; and exactly what would make someone want to buy from you especially in the first place. If you really have what they want and need, the question shouldn't even come up. Still....

Are you out to just create a fat bank account for yourself, while playing perhaps the angel to your family, but the devil to everyone else... or do you really want to build a business? And what this is really all about is perhaps a hard distinction to make or even to want to make. But without facing that question, and answering it honestly, most people really should have no reason to take another step in any direction online or off in matters of "what sells", what's selling, and what is likely to be selling for you. What happened to "follow your bliss"? And service to the multitudes as a prelude to your own ascension into your own higher goodness that really is so-o attractive?

There is an excellent video called: rebooting your brain (and why you need to do it) that I watched recently. Barry Goss recommended it highly and it was made by John Reese. And if you don't know who they are, I can tell you that both of them are super manifestor teachers, and you might like to check this video out for some some of the best insights into marketing on every level that I've ever encountered. And I highly recommend it to everyone whether they are selling (or wanting to sell) in my industry or not. We're always selling; we're always selling ourselves. The video is found by going to: http://www.marketingsecrets.com/images/rebootmethod/rebootmethod.html

Until my next post,
Best Regards and
Many Blessings,
